Tools that help keep this unorganized teacher organized
Throughout my early years of teaching, I struggled to create a desk setup that was both functional and comfortable. Because the HDMI plug-in is positioned right next to the Smartboard, my desk was forced into the front corner of the classroom. This made it difficult to move around freely or stay connected with all of my students.
This year, I focused on designing a desk space that truly works for me. I love the freedom to teach from the back, so I can stay organized, comfortable, and fully engaged with my classroom.

Standing Desk

This desk is AMAZING! I love being able to change the height of the desk with a press of the buttons. The size is also perfect for the document camera, laptop set-up, and piles of papers.

I had to purchase a new chair for the standing desk. Although I do not sit at the desk all the time, I wanted something that was comfortable when I did. It looks beautiful with my desk and it was super easy to set up! The wheels also make it easy to move around, if I want to stand at my desk.

This organizer is small, but has many drawers and compartments. This helps to organize the plethora of items on my desk, such as pens, markers, post-its, paper clips, and so much more.

This tool has allowed me to change the location of my teaching desk. I am now able to teach from the back, which makes visibility of the students so much easier. I also love that I am wireless, as I can take my laptop anywhere around the room.
Wireless Microphone

These microphones are so convenient when the kids are at the vertical whiteboards. We talk A LOT as teachers and having a microphone can be a big help! I love that there are two microphones, especially when we are doiing debates (i.e., it can act as their talking chip). I did have to get a 1/4 to 3.55 mm adaptor to connect to my smartboard.

Since I prepare a daily slide-deck, this tool has been crucial to navigate through my presentations. I love that there is also a laser clicker, so I can point out things at our boards.
